30x30 Ann Arbor Art Center
30X30 is a sale of 30 works by 30 artists for sale for $40 each. The artists receive a commission but truly are donating their talents to raise funds for low-income households to take Art Center courses for free.

The Ann Arbor Art Center is where creativity and community meet! Founded in 1909, with 101 years "under our belt," we have been creating exhibitions and programs in the visual arts from preschools to retirees that are clearly popular. How else could we last so long!

National Wet Paint Exhibition 2012
I have been selected from a nation wide call for MFA artists to participate in the National Wet Paint Exhibition 2012 in Chicago, Illinois. The exhibition will take place from January 20 to March 10, 2012.

The National Wet Paint Exhibition is an outlook and an overview of emerging artists across the United States currently working in the medium of painting. Wet Paint refers to the idea that this is a fresh group of artists. They are MFA (Masters of Fine Arts) candidates and recent MFA recipients working primarily in the medium of painting.

The National Wet Paint Exhibition consists of 50 paintings by artists selected from a national call which resulted in over 250 submissions. The exhibition takes place in the 7000 sq/ft main gallery of the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood. The Zhou B Art Center is a private, non-government funded art center designed to facilitate the exchange of contemporary art between Chicago and the international art community. The 87,000 square feet art center offers innumerable possibilities for exploring the arts in a charismatic location and collectively form an extravagant art center fusing culture and creativity.

All the works in the exhibition will be permanently available online at www.VisualArtToday.com. The National Wet Paint Exhibition was curated and organized by Sergio Gomez, Curator and Exhibitions Director at the Zhou B Art Center.

Manifest Gallery, Master Pieces 5, July 8- Aug 5
http://manifestgallery.org/about/schedule.html

Building upon the philosophy and success of the Rites of Passage exhibits for undergrads, each year Manifest offers a similar opportunity to graduate students for exhibiting at Manifest.

This fifth installment of the Master Pieces project will continue to reveal the intensity and professionalism of students working towards their terminal academic degree in the field of art or design.

Often the most exceptional work comes out of these artists’ immersion in their culture of study and intellectual pursuit. Manifest’s goal, therefore, is to select works that in the truest sense of the word are contemporary masterpieces – works that set the standard of quality that the artist is expected to maintain throughout his or her professional career. The exhibit catalog for this show will serve as a visual documentation of these artists’ own benchmarks for years to come.

This 5th annual Master Pieces was open to submissions by current graduate students, or those who received their MFA/MA degree in 2010 or 2011. One hundred and twelve artists submitted 300 works for consideration. Of these, twenty five works by the following sixteen artists were selected for exhibition and documentation in the full-color catalog.
