Circumambulation
Circumambulation is the act of walking around something, often in a ritualistic context. Paintings in this series activate the space where they hang and will also animate in a looping action, living in a kind of digital afterlife. The motion of the objects contained within the frames, their framing of sacred architecture, and reference to natural seasons, inform reflections on change, grief and loss, and the promise of rebirth and the unstoppable continuation of life.
