(From the press release)
I'm very excited to share with you a unique art installation I've had the privilege to make in collaboration with St Ann & The Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn Heights. Many hours over the last 2 months have gone into cutting and painting over 400 unique paper panels that are temporarily inlaid with the historic gothic architecture in this breathtaking church building. 2018 was personally an intense year and I find myself contemplating the changes I've experienced and where new trajectories will lead. As we enter the lenten season, it's that feeling of journey that motivates the creation of this work. By stretching colors across the building and around your feet a new experience that compliments the vertical thrust of the space develops. There's a sense of the windows' light moving through the wood paneling and a change of season from the back to the front. The passages of color and botanical details lead you around the space to discover surprising particularities in the church's architecture and stained glass windows that may have otherwise been overlooked.
